Monday, May 19

9 a.m. -12 p.m. Talking Signs Demonstration Project - public testing session

Sound Transit is conducting a demonstration project for Talking Signs, an infrared signage system designed to help people with disabilities access transit facilities. Staff is testing the system throughout May and June. Interested community members are encouraged to participate by attending a public testing session. Sessions are scheduled for 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. May 20; 1-4 p.m. May 21; 1-4 p.m. May 29; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 2; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 5; 1-4 p.m. June 10; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 12; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 16; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 18; 9 a.m.-12 p.m. June 24; and 1-4 p.m. June 26. 3:30-6 p.m. Light Rail Tukwila Project Design Open House

Sound Transit will hold the first of two open houses for community members to get information on the design of Central Link light rail in Tukwila. Staff and consultants will be available to review project maps and designs and to provide information on trackway improvements, construction methods, public art, the construction schedule and Sound Transit's real estate acquisition and relocation processes.

5-7:30 p.m. I-90 Two-Way Transit and HOV open house/public hearing

Sound Transit will hold the first of three open houses/public hearings to gather community input on the draft environmental impact statement for the I-90 Two Way Transit and HOV Operations Project. (Community members can also attend meetings May 21 in Seattle or May 22 in Bellevue - see separate listings.)
