Fans of regional transit personality will have the chance to take their photo with pearls-of-wisdom icon

Honey, guess who's doing the Puyallup this Saturday?

The Voice of Reason, the Betty White-inspired personality behind Sound Transit's latest ad campaign, will make her first celebrity appearance at the Puyallup Fair this weekend.

Fair goers will have the chance to meet the cheery, "ride the wave" sage from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Sound Transit booth in the ShowPlex. The common-sense dispenser of go-green, go transit, and relax advice will be available for photos and friendly tips on how to join the 77,000 people a day who are riding Sound Transit's ST Express bus, Sounder, Link light rail, and Tacoma Link.

Bummed out by traffic jams and high gas prices? Stop by and snap a picture with the lady in pearls. For a location of the ShowPlex and an interactive map of the fairgrounds, visit the Fair's website. Voice of Reason fans can stay-tuned for future appearances, contests and more on Facebook.

During the time the popular icon began doling out transit pointers, the agency's ridership grew 10 percent. Second quarter ridership on ST Express buses increased 11 percent, Link light rail jumped 13 percent, and Tacoma Link grew 16 per cent over the same period last year. Sounder ridership was essentially flat due to an unusually high number of mudslides that affected northline service to Everett.
