To help people get an early start on the holidays, Sound Transit's Sounder commuter rail service will run an early train on Friday, December 21. The early train home, which will run in addition to the regular 5:10 p.m. and 5:35 p.m. southbound trains, will leave Seattle's King Street Station at 1:55 p.m.

Friday's special service will arrive in Tukwila at 2:11 p.m., Kent at 2:18 p.m., Auburn at 2:25 p.m., Sumner at 2:34 p.m., Puyallup at 2:39 p.m. and Tacoma at 2:54 p.m. For more information on special train schedules and fares, visit www.soundtransit.org or call toll free to (888) 889-6368; TTY (888) 713-6030.

In 1996 voters approved a plan and funding for Sound Transit to provide a regional system of transit improvements, including Sounder commuter rail, ST Express regional bus service, numerous capital improvements (including park and rides, transit centers and direct access ramps) and Link light rail.
