Sounder train to run Sunday for Sounders FC vs L.A. Galaxy match

Special event train will serve Sounders FC fans heading to the stadium

Sounders FC fans can skip highway congestion and parking costs by riding Sound Transit’s Sounder event train to the Sounders FC 1 p.m. match Sunday against the L.A. Galaxy.

Riders attending the Sounders FC match can take the train departing from Lakewood at 10:15 a.m. The train from Everett will depart at 10:45 a.m. Return trains depart King Street Station 35 minutes after the match ends.

Special Sounder service is in addition to regular Link light rail service to and from CenturyLink Field. Link runs every 10 minutes on weekends and serves 15 stations including the University of Washington, Capitol Hill, downtown Seattle, SODO, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Tukwila and SeaTac. Link’s Stadium and International District stations are a short walk from the stadium.

Regular fares apply for all Sound Transit services. Getting an ORCA card is a great way to skip lines at ticket vending machines. Cards only cost $5 for adults, plus whatever amount a rider chooses to load in the card’s E-purse or the cost of a pass that is good for unlimited transit trips.
