Mariners fans can ride Sounder to the game this weekend and skip traffic

Baseball fans can take Sound Transit's popular Sounder train to the Mariners game against the Tampa Bay Rays this Sunday. The game starts at 1:10 p.m.

The stadium-bound train from the south will leave Lakewood at 10:45 a.m. The stadium-bound train from the north will leave Everett at 11:15 a.m. Return trains will leave King Street Station 35 minutes after the last out.

Sounder trains will serve five other Mariners games through August. A complete schedule of game day service for Mariners is available at soundtransit.org/Schedules/Event-services/Mariners.

Special Sounder service is in addition to Link light rail service to and from Safeco Field. Link runs every 10 minutes on Sunday and will serve nine stations in SODO, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Tukwila and SeaTac. Light rail service will not operate in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel this weekend. The tunnel will be closed June 6 and 7 for system upgrades to prepare for the early 2016 opening of the University Link extension.

Many ST Express buses also drop off passengers near the stadium. Link and ST Express bus schedules are available at soundtransit.org/Schedules.

Regular fares apply for all Sound Transit services. ORCA and all standing transit passes will be accepted.  Getting an ORCA card is a great way to skip lines at ticket vending machines. Cards only cost $5 for adults, plus whatever amount a rider chooses to load in the card's E-purse or the cost of a pass that is good for unlimited transit trips. ORCA works on trains, buses and ferries throughout the region. More information is available at orcacard.com.
