Sounder trains will serve military parade, Mariners and Sounders FC games

Sound Transit's popular Sounder trains will serve three special events this weekend, making it easy for military parade attendees and sports fans to avoid weekend gridlock and save on gas and parking.

A special Sounder train will depart the Lakewood and South Tacoma stations on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. respectively, delivering parade goers to Freighthouse Square in Tacoma in plenty of time for "Celebrating Military Service" festivities that begin at 5 p.m. The parade, which is being hosted by the City of Tacoma and the Daffodil Festival, starts at 6 p.m. The return train to Lakewood leaves Tacoma at 8:30 p.m. In honor of U.S. troops and their families, no fare will be charged for persons riding the military parade train. More information is available on our event service page.

Sound Transit will also run special Sounder trains Sunday to the Mariners vs Los Angeles Angels game at 1:10 p.m., and the Sounders FC vs Portland Timbers match at 7 p.m. Inbound trains to the Mariners game will depart Lakewood at 10:45 a.m. and Everett at 11:15 a.m. Inbound trains to the Sounders FC match will depart Lakewood at 4:45 p.m. and Everett at 5:15 p.m. Return trains for both events depart King Street Station 35 minutes after the games end.

Complete game day Sounder train schedules are available at Schedules/Event-services.

Special Sounder service will operate in addition to regular Link light rail service to and from the stadiums. Link light rail serves 13 stations in downtown Seattle, SODO, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Tukwila and SeaTac. Link's Stadium Station is four blocks from Century Link Field and Safeco Field.

Regular fares will apply for all Sound Transit services. ORCA and all standing transit passes will be accepted. Getting an ORCA card is a great way to skip lines at ticket vending machines. Cards only cost $5 for adults, plus whatever amount a rider chooses to load in the card's E-Purse or the cost of a pass that is good for unlimited transit trips. ORCA works on trains, buses and ferries throughout the region. More information is available at http://www.orcacard.com.
