Special Sounder service to run day after Thanksgiving

Commuters and holiday revelers can take early morning, mid-morning, and afternoon trains as the region kicks off one of the busiest holiday shopping days of the year

Sound Transit will operate early morning, mid-morning and afternoon Sounder trains on Friday, Nov. 23, for commuters and others travelers needing to get around the region on one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Sounder service will not operate on Thanksgiving day.

The first train from Lakewood leaves at 6:12 a.m. and reaches Seattle at 7:24 a.m. A second northbound train will depart Lakewood Station at 9:17 a.m., and a third, late afternoon train leaves Lakewood at 4:12 p.m. Trains from Seattle depart King Street Station for Lakewood at 7:40 a.m., 2:30 p.m., and 5:40 p.m.

The morning train from Everett will leave at 6:45 a.m. and arrive in Seattle at 7:44 a.m. The return train departs King Street Station at 5:05 p.m.

Sound Transit buses and Link light rail trains will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thursday, Nov. 22. The day after Thanksgiving, ST Express buses and Tacoma Link will operate on a weekday schedule. Central Link trains will run on a Saturday schedule.
