ST offers special service to Puyallup Fair, Seahawks games, Tacoma run
Sound Transit will provide a variety of special services beginning this weekend to help people get to the fun without enduring traffic and parking hassles.
- Puyallup Fair goers can ride special ST Express bus service between Seattle, Kent/Des Moines and Auburn and the fair - and get $2 off admission!
- Seahawks fans can ride Sounder commuter rail to Sunday afternoon home games, starting this Sunday as the Seahawks face New Orleans.
- Those headed for Tacoma's Bank-to-Bay run on Sunday can hop on Link light rail, with special service every 20 minutes starting early at 7:20 a.m.
This weekend marks the first that Sound Transit is offering special service on all three of its lines of business - ST Express buses, Sounder commuter rail and Link light rail.
This Sunday, Seahawks fans can board Sounder trains in Tacoma at 10:45 a.m. or 11 a.m.; Puyallup at 10:57 a.m. or 11:12 a.m.; Sumner at 11:02 a.m. or 11:17 a.m.; Auburn at 11:10 a.m. or 11:25 a.m.; Kent at 11:17 a.m. or 11:32 a.m.; and Tukwila at 11:24 a.m. or 11:39 a.m. Trains arrive at King Street Station - right next to Seahawks Stadium - at 11:45 a.m. and noon. Trains will depart King Street Station at 4:55 p.m. and 5:10 p.m. Due to railroad schedules, the trains must depart at those times even if the game goes into overtime. (Please note: games in October through December will be served by only one train in each direction.) Please see www.soundtransit.org for detailed information. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at ticket vending machines located at Sounder stations. Machines accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and debit cards. Fans who need to use the machines are asked to arrive at their stations early.
There's no better way to "Do the Puyallup" - and get a coupon for $2 off fair admission - than by riding ST Express on Saturdays and Sundays, September 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21. ST Express Route 599 Seattle/Kent - Puyallup Fair will depart every hour from downtown Seattle and the Kent-Des Moines Park-and-Ride between 8:15 a.m. and 10:15 p.m. Return buses will depart every hour from the fair's Blue Gate between 9:40 a.m. and 10:40 p.m. ST Express Route 589 Auburn - Puyallup Fair will depart every 30 minutes from the Auburn Park-and-Ride between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Return buses depart from the fair's Blue Gate every half hour between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. (Please see www.soundtransit.org for detailed route and schedule information.)
