Take Sounder train to Seahawks game Sunday
Special train service will run for Seahawks vs Carolina Panthers game
Seahawks fans can skip weekend traffic and parking costs by taking Sound Transit’s special Sounder service to the Seahawks 1:05 p.m. game this Sunday, Oct. 18, against the Carolina Panthers.
Sounder game day service is in addition to regular Link light rail, ST Express, and King County Metro service to and from CenturyLink Field.
Inbound Sounder trains from the south depart Lakewood at 9:50 and 10:30 a.m., and from Sumner at 10:37 a.m. The first train leaving Lakewood is an express service that stops in South Tacoma, Tacoma and Puyallup before continuing directly to Seattle, where it arrives at King Street Station at 10:57 a.m. The second train departs Sumner at 10:37 a.m. with stops in Auburn, Kent and Tukwila before reaching Seattle at 11:19 a.m. A third train leaves Lakewood at 10:30 and stops at all southline Sounder stations before arriving at King Street Station at 11:43 a.m.
Inbound trains from Snohomish County will depart Everett at 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds, arriving at King Street Station at 11:14 and 11:29 a.m.
Return trains to Lakewood will depart King Street Station 10, 20 and 45 minutes after the game. Returns trains to Everett will leave Seattle 15 and 35 minutes after the game. An online schedule of Sounder trains serving Seahawks games is available at soundtransit.org/seahawks.
Link runs every 10 minutes on Sunday and serves 13 stations in downtown Seattle, SODO, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Tukwila and SeaTac. Link's Stadium and International District stations are a short walk from CenturyLink Field.
Many ST Express and Metro Transit buses also drop off passengers near the stadium. Link and ST Express bus schedules are available at soundtransit.org/schedules. Metro Transit trip planning information is available at metro.kingcounty.gov.
In addition to its regular Sunday bus service, Metro Transit will operate special Seahawks game day shuttles from three park-and-ride lots. Game day shuttles will serve the Eastgate P&R, Northgate Transit Center, and South Kirkland P&R and travel non-stop to CenturyLink Field. Shuttles leave designated parking areas two hours prior to kick off time, with the last bus leaving about 30 minutes before kickoff. More information on Metro’s game day shuttle service is available at metro.kingcounty.gov/up/spclevent/seahawks.
Regular fares apply for all Sound Transit and Metro Transit services. Getting an ORCA card is a great way to skip lines at ticket vending machines. Cards only cost $5 for adults, plus whatever amount a rider chooses to load in the card's E-purse or the cost of a pass that is good for unlimited transit trips. ORCA works on trains, buses and ferries throughout the region. More information is available at orcacard.com.
