Sounder trains will serve weekend Seahawks daytime games

Seattle Seahawks fans can bypass traffic and take Sound Transit's popular Sounder commuter rail trains to weekend day games this season. The special Sounder service is in addition to regular Link light rail service to and from the stadiums.

Sound Transit will run special Sounder trains to six Seahawks games beginning Sunday, September 25 through Saturday, December 24. Sounder serves Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent, Tukwila, Everett, Mukilteo and Edmonds, arriving and departing a short walk from Century Link Field to King Street Station.

Inbound trains from the south will depart Tacoma at 10:05 and 10:45 a.m. and Sumner at 10:37 a.m. The first train leaving Tacoma is an express service that stops in Puyallup and continues directly to Seattle, where it arrives at King Street Station at 10:59 a.m. The second northbound train departs Sumner at 10:37 a.m. with stops in Auburn, Kent and Tukwila before reaching Seattle at 11:22 a.m. A third train leaves Tacoma at 10:45 and stops at all southline Sounder stations before arriving at King Street Station at 11:47 a.m.

Inbound trains from Snohomish County will depart Everett at 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds, arriving at King Street Station at 11:14 and 11:29 a.m.

This year, Sound Transit is giving Seahawks fans an extra five minutes to reach the last train after the game. Trains to Tacoma will depart King Street Station 10, 20 and 45 minutes after the game ends. Trains to Everett trains will leave Seattle 15 and 35 minutes after the game. An online schedule of Sounder trains serving Seahawks games is available online here >

Link light rail serves 13 stations in downtown Seattle, SODO, Beacon Hill, Rainier Valley, Tukwila and SeaTac. Link's Stadium Station is a half block from Century Link Field and Safeco Field.

Regular fares will apply for all Sound Transit services. ORCA and all standing transit passes will be accepted. Getting an ORCA card is a great way to skip lines at ticket vending machines. Cards only cost $5 for adults, plus whatever amount a rider chooses to load in the card's E-Purse or the cost of a pass that is good for unlimited transit trips. ORCA works on trains, buses and ferries throughout the region. More information is available at www.orcacard.com.
