AANHPI Heritage Month in the Puget Sound: Come for the culture, stay for the food

Publish Date

Celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month is a chance to honor the rich histories, diverse cultures, and contributions of AANHPI communities.

It’s also the perfect time to shine a spotlight on the trailblazers who’ve shaped our nation across art, science, politics, activism, and so much more.

But it’s not just about looking back — this month is also about reflecting on the challenges AANHPI communities have faced and continue to overcome. It’s a moment to build awareness, foster unity, and strengthen our shared understanding of the values that make our society more inclusive and compassionate.

If you’re interested in learning more about AANHPI Heritage Month, there are a number of exhibits you can check out in our region:

Last but not least, let’s not forget the delicious part! AANHPI Heritage Month is a feast for the senses, celebrating the incredible variety of culinary traditions these cultures bring to the table. Food has this amazing way of connecting us — it tells stories, carries memories, and keeps traditions alive.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in rich and diverse flavors, check out the Asean Street Food Hall located in downtown Seattle just steps away from Westlake Station on the 1 Line.
