Late night bites: Where to eat after dark in Seattle

Publish Date

Whether you’re heading home from a show, catching up with friends, or just craving a midnight meal, Seattle has plenty of spots to satisfy your late-night appetite.

From 24-hour classics to neighborhood gems that stay open well past midnight, here are some great places to grab a bite along the 1 Line when the sun goes down.

While Link light rail service ends at 1 a.m. on Monday through Saturday and midnight on Sundays and holidays, consider these late-night locations a resting spot until service begins again.

24-hour options

Let’s start with a legend — 13 Coins. With its leather booths, open kitchen, and massive menu, this Seattle staple has been serving around the clock since 1967. Whether you're craving a crab omelet at 3 a.m.  or a ribeye after a long shift, 13 Coins delivers.

Multiple locations stay open 24 hours, with the Pioneer Square spot being the most centrally located near Sound Transit services.

International District

Seattle’s Chinatown-International District is the go-to for comforting, late-night Asian fare. Purple Dot Café stays open until 1 a.m. and offers a Hong Kong-style diner menu — think congee, fried noodles, and sizzling plates.

A few blocks away, Honey Court Seafood keeps the lights on until 2 a.m. on weekends. It’s a favorite for night owls who love Cantonese stir-fry and late-night dim sum.

U District

Not far north, Aladdin Gyro-Cery & Deli near the University District serves Mediterranean eats like gyros, falafel, and shawarma until 2 a.m. nightly.

Memo’s Mexican Restaurant has been a local late-night haunt for hungry Huskies for decades. Just a few steps away form the light rail station, you too can quench your midnight munchies with delicious and filling food.

Capitol Hill

If you’re out in Capitol Hill, late-night options are all around you! Lost Lake Café & Lounge is a retro-inspired diner serving burgers, breakfast, and boozy milkshakes until 2 or 3 a.m. on weekends.

Craving a burger and fries? Dick’s Drive-In on Broadway slings its famous no-frills burgers until 2 a.m. every night.

Or grab a giant New York-style slice at Big Mario’s, also open until 2 a.m.

Columbia City

South Seattle isn’t left out of the late-night game. Island Soul, known for its Caribbean comfort food, stays open until 1 a.m. on weekends. It’s a perfect spot for plantains, jerk chicken, or a nightcap close to home.

Whether you’re in the mood for noodles, burgers, seafood, or soul food, Seattle’s late-night dining scene has something for every craving. So go ahead—stay out a little longer. Your next great bite is waiting.
