From historic markets to old theaters and even a few haunted houses, here are some of scary destinations:
1 Line
Pike Place Market
(0.4 miles from Westlake Station)
Seattle’s iconic market isn’t just famous for flying fish. Vendors and visitors alike have reported sightings of Princess Angeline, daughter of Chief Seattle, still wandering the market long after her death. To increase your chances of spotting a ghost, stop by Kells Irish Pub. Once a mortuary, staff have reported glasses shattering, mirrors cracking, and spirits of another kind.
Smith Tower
(0.3 miles from Pioneer Square Station)
Once the tallest building west of the Mississippi, Smith Tower has its share of eerie stories: cold drafts, phantom footsteps, and shadowy figures roaming the halls. The view from the observation deck is spectacular — if you can handle the chills.
Seattle Underground Tours
(0.2 miles from Pioneer Square Station)
After the Great Fire of 1889, Seattle rebuilt on top of its original streets, leaving a dark network of tunnels below. Visitors often report ghostly figures lurking in the shadows—making this tour equal parts history lesson and ghost hunt.
Hotel Sorrento
(0.5 miles from University Street Station)
Opened in 1909, this elegant hotel is said to be haunted by Alice B. Toklas. Guests have reported flickering lights and her apparition wandering the halls, especially on the fourth floor.

Seattle’s oldest theater, built in 1907, has entertained millions—and maybe a few ghosts. Reports of phantom applause, moving shadows, and unexplained noises make every performance feel a little otherworldly.

This historic hotel is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a congressman who jumped to his death from the fifth floor. Today, it’s a luxurious spot with many options for spirits.
