A transit-friendly summer escape: Blueberry picking at Mercer Slough

Looking for a fun and fruitful summer activity? Hop on the 2 Line to South Bellevue Station and head to the Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm for one of the region’s sweetest seasonal traditions: U-pick blueberries.

Tucked into the wetlands near downtown Bellevue, the Mercer Slough farm is part of a city effort to preserve local agriculture and provide access to fresh, seasonal produce. 

The farm is now open for U-pick and offers a peaceful, nature-filled outing without needing a car.

What: U-Pick blueberries 

When: Tuesday–Saturday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday: 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (closed Mondays)

Where: 2220 Bellevue Way SE

How: Take Link 2 Line to South Bellevue Station. Exit on the west side and walk about 10 minutes toward the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center.

Farms, gardens, and good vibes

Bellevue’s agricultural past meets the present through its farms and gardens. 

After picking blueberries, you can buy flowers or fresh produce at the farmstand, take a stroll on one of the surrounding trails, or even hop back on the train and visit the nearby Bellevue Botanical Garden.
