From neighborhood coffee and bagels to curling, community gardens, golf, green space and even a place to make your own stuff, Pinehurst and the surrounding Haller Lake and Lake City neighborhoods are full of ways to spend an afternoon.
So hop off the 1 or 2 Line and explore. Here are a few places to add to your Pinehurst Station itinerary.
Grab a bite
Giddy Sloth Cafe
Start your adventure with a cup of coffee at this cozy neighborhood café on 15th Ave NE. Giddy Sloth specializes in Costa Rican coffee and has earned a reputation as a welcoming neighborhood spot. It’s a great place to fuel up before exploring the area—or slow down for a little while after your adventure.
Nori Presto
In the mood for teriyaki? Nori Presto serves up Seattle-style teriyaki alongside Japanese and Asian-American favorites, including bento, fried rice, noodles and sushi rolls. It’s a neighborhood staple when you’re looking for a casual, filling meal.
Pizza Twist
Pizza with a twist—literally. This North Seattle spot puts a spin on the classic pie, with flavors like butter chicken, tikka masala, tandoori and achari alongside more traditional options. It’s a fun choice when your pizza craving calls for something a little different.
Zylberschtein's
If you know, you know. Zylberschtein’s Delicatessen & Bakery has become a North Seattle classic for bagels, deli sandwiches, pastries and other Jewish deli and bakery classics. Stop by for breakfast, pick up lunch or grab something sweet for later.
Get outside
Northacres Park
Need some fresh air? Northacres Park has a little something for everyone. The wooded park includes trails, picnic areas, ballfields, a playground, restrooms and a dog off-leash area. In the warmer months, the spray park makes it an especially popular destination for families.
Haller Lake P-Patch
For a quieter stop, wander through Haller Lake P-Patch. This community garden has been part of the neighborhood since 1998 and includes demonstration gardens, accessible raised beds, flowers, shady seating and a small children’s play area. Gardeners also donate produce to local food banks, making this community garden a beautiful example of neighbors growing something together.
Try something new
Granite Curling Club of Seattle
Yes, there’s a curling club in North Seattle—and yes, you can try it.
Granite Curling Club has been part of the Seattle community since 1961 and welcomes curlers of all experience levels. During the season, the club offers Learn to Curl sessions where newcomers can learn the basics and play a short game. Group events are also available, making this a particularly fun option for a friends’ outing or a team activity.
Jackson Park Golf Course
Bring your clubs—or work on your swing. Jackson Park Golf Course offers a full golf experience along with a driving range and Toptracer technology for those looking to practice. The course also offers leagues and clinics for different skill levels, so you don’t have to be a seasoned golfer to give it a shot.
North End Makerspace
For the creatively curious, North End Makerspace is a nonprofit community makerspace right in the Pinehurst neighborhood. Members have access to tools and equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking tools, sewing machines, electronics equipment and more.
The space is built around learning, sharing skills and making things together, with classes, events and community activities throughout the year. Whether you’re an experienced maker or someone who just wants to learn how something works, it’s worth checking out what’s happening.
