reel icon You may have walked across these pathways hundreds of times without knowing their purpose.

These tactile wayfinding tiles provide information for riders who are blind or have low vision, and is just one of the many ways we’re helping people move through stations with greater confidence and independence.

Accessibility is built into every part of the rider experience — including the details beneath our feet.

reel icon Most riders never see this part.

Before trains head out into service, they spend time behind the scenes getting cleaned, inspected, and prepared for the day ahead.

reel icon Ever wonder how public art makes its way into a station? 👀🎨

We went behind the scenes with STart project manager Lucile Chich to watch artist Romson Bustillo’s work take its place at Pinehurst Station.

The colorful glyphs started with ideas shared during three community workshops in North Seattle, inspired by local flora, fauna, landscapes and memories of other places. Romson, who attended school in the Pinehurst area, brought those ideas together with his own Filipino background to create the artwork riders will soon see throughout the station.
