Expanding transit throughout the region involves more than building the projects. We have to ensure our existing operations are in good shape as we prepare to expand our transit system.
Over time, the vehicles, tracks, and facilities will need maintenance to remain reliable. Passengers should plan for periods of less frequent Link service, and when needed, replacement bus service.
1 and 2 Line light rail
- 1/13-1/15:
- From 11 p.m. to start of service on 1/13, 1/14, and 1/15; 1 Line service between Stadium and Mt. Baker stations. Riders will have to transfer to a 1 Line shuttle bus at Stadium and Mt. Baker stations.
- 1 Line trains will run between Lynnwood and Stadium stations every 16 minutes.
- 1 Line shuttle buses will operate between Stadium and Mt. Baker stations every 10-15 minutes.
- 1 Line trains will run between Stadium and Federal Way Downtown stations every 16 minutes.
- From 11 p.m. to start of service on 1/13, 1/14, and 1/15; 1 Line service between Stadium and Mt. Baker stations. Riders will have to transfer to a 1 Line shuttle bus at Stadium and Mt. Baker stations.
- 1/16, 1/18:
- From 10 p.m. on 1/16 until end of service, and all day 1/18, 1 Line service will be suspended between Capitol Hill and SODO stations. Riders will have to transfer to a 1 Line shuttle bus at Capitol Hill and SODO stations.
- 1 Line trains will run between Lynnwood City Center and Capitol Hill stations every 15 minutes.
- 1 Line shuttle buses will operate every 10-15 minutes between Capitol Hill and SODO stations.
- 1 Line trains will operate between SODO and Federal Way Downtown stations as scheduled.
- From 10 p.m. on 1/16 until end of service, and all day 1/18, 1 Line service will be suspended between Capitol Hill and SODO stations. Riders will have to transfer to a 1 Line shuttle bus at Capitol Hill and SODO stations.
- 1/23-1/26*:
- From 10 p.m. on 1/23 until start of service on 1/26, 1 Line service will be suspended between Capitol Hill and SODO stations. Riders will have to transfer to a 1 Line shuttle bus at Capitol Hill and SODO stations.
- 1 Line will run between every 15 minutes between Lynnwood City Center and Capitol Hill stations every 15 minutes.
- 1 Line shuttle buses will operate every 10-15 minutes between Capitol Hill and SODO stations.
- 1 Line trains will operate between SODO and Federal Way Downtown stations as scheduled.
- From 10 p.m. on 1/23 until start of service on 1/26, 1 Line service will be suspended between Capitol Hill and SODO stations. Riders will have to transfer to a 1 Line shuttle bus at Capitol Hill and SODO stations.
* Sound Transit is working closely with the Seahawks to monitor the NFL playoff calendar and keep the region moving. The 1 Line will be open to serve the Seahawks playoffs and fan activity before and after games.
T Line light rail
- 1/20-1/23:
- From 7 p.m. on 1/20 until end of service on 1/23, T Line service will be suspended. Alternate service will be provided along the T Line route by T Line shuttle buses.
- Note: The Tacoma General Station stop will not be serviced due to unrelated nearby construction. Passengers looking to use the Tacoma General stop should use the 6th Ave Station stop instead.

- From 7 p.m. on 1/20 until end of service on 1/23, T Line service will be suspended. Alternate service will be provided along the T Line route by T Line shuttle buses.
Sounder trains
There are no planned service disruptions for Sounder at this time.
ST Express buses
