Buildings in Federal Way will be demolished for Federal Way Link project

Area will be site of new Link light rail station near the Federal Way Transit Center

Publish Date

As part of the critical construction work on the Federal Way Link project, crews will begin demolishing a number of buildings on S. 320th Street between 23rd Avenue South and 21st Avenue South as early as the week of April 20. This work will continue for several weeks.

Sound Transit is demolishing buildings along the Federal Way alignment that would pose a public health or safety concern if left standing. This work is continuing under CDC, state and local health and safety guidelines for COVID-19.

The area of S. 320th will be the site of a new Link light rail station at the Federal Way Transit Center. The station will integrate bus and rail service, provide street improvements and add 400 new parking spaces for transit users.

The Federal Way Link Extension will open for service in 2024. For more information on the Federal Way Link Extension and to sign up for project updates, visit www.soundtransit.org/fwlink.
