Work will require closing of escalators and stairwells daily between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Work crews will be installing brighter lighting at Mt. Baker Station starting Tuesday, February 21 through Thursday, March 2. The new LED lighting will increase lighting levels of the space for the health and safety of the public.
While the lighting is being installed, escalators and central stairwells connecting to both the east and west platforms will have intermittent periods of closure so that overhead lighting can be replaced. The closures of escalators and central stairwells will occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Stairwells at the north end of both platforms will remain open throughout scheduled maintenance.
During this time, elevators are planned to remain in operation. Passengers are encouraged to sign up for accessibility alerts at the Service alerts web page to receive updates regarding elevator outages.
