Link light rail service will be temporarily suspended between Capitol Hill and SODO stations from the evening of June 7 through June 8
Link Shuttle buses will operate to transport riders between stations; passengers should allow additional time for trips
In order to perform work connecting East Link to the existing 1 Line, Link light rail will be temporarily suspended between Capitol Hill and SODO stations from 10 p.m. Saturday, June 7 through the end of service Sunday, June 8. In addition, the Lynnwood City Center platform at International District/Chinatown, will be closed for all of June 7 and June 8. Normal operations will resume at the start of service Monday, June 9.
During the disruption, crews will be completing substation power redundancy testing of the integrated 1 and 2 lines and fixing issues with the southeast staircase at International District/Chinatown Station. Sound Transit will provide Link Shuttle buses to transport passengers. The buses will run approximately every 10-15 minutes and stop at all stations between Capitol Hill and SODO. Additional information about the bus bridge is available at 1 Line service disruption | Sound Transit.
Passengers traveling southbound from Capitol Hill station will have to get off the train and take the shuttle, reconnecting at SODO station if they are continuing to travel south. The same will be true for passengers heading north through SODO station, who will exit the train at SODO and reconnect at Capitol Hill for the remainder of their journey. Link trains will be running approximately every 15 minutes between SODO and Angle Lake and between Lynnwood and Capitol Hill.
Passengers traveling northbound from International District/Chinatown station on Saturday, June 7, should board on the Angle Lake platform and transfer at Stadium to trains for Lynnwood City Center.
Passengers should plan ahead and allow for extra time for transfers between buses and trains or seek alternative transit options that may better suit their needs. A full list of transit options is available at https://www.soundtransit.org/1LineAlternatives
