Sound Transit announces special schedules for Thanksgiving holiday, Tacoma Dome concert

Sound Transit will have special holiday hours for buses and trains this Thanksgiving holiday, plus special train service for the big crowds expected at the AC/DC concert at the Tacoma Dome on Nov. 30.

Sound Transit’s business offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27, through the holiday weekend, and reopen for normal business hours on Monday, Dec 1.

On Thursday, Nov. 27, Sound Transit buses and Tacoma Link light rail will operate a Sunday schedule, and Sounder commuter trains will not run. On Friday, Nov. 28, Sound Transit buses and Tacoma Link will operate a normal weekday schedule. Sounder commuter trains will run on a holiday schedule, with fewer trains and a shift in the schedule for mid-morning and mid-afternoon departures, giving Sounder travelers more flexibility. Sounder station agents will have a holiday schedule and will not be staffing the first train of the day. Sounder Connector Route 599 from Lakewood Station will also run on a modified schedule, and will not serve the 9:30 a.m. Sounder departure or the 3:29 p.m. Sounder arrival at Tacoma Dome Station.

On Saturday Nov. 29, Sound Transit buses and Tacoma Link trains will run on normal Saturday schedules.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, Tacoma Link will extend service to midnight to serve crowds expected for the AC/DC concert at the Tacoma Dome. A special Sounder train will run between Seattle and Tacoma to give concert-goers another fast, convenient alternative to driving. The return trip north to Seattle will depart Tacoma Dome Station 30 minutes after the house lights go up at the end of the concert. Normal Sounder fares apply.

Normal weekday service for ST Express buses, Tacoma Link light rail, and Sounder commuter rail resumes Monday, Dec 1.
