Sound Transit is inviting the public to provide input to the agency's architectural and design team as it begins planning property layout and design for the Lakewood station. The Lakewood station, planned to open in late 2003, will serve as a stop for Sound Transit's Sounder commuter rail and ST Express regional bus services, as well as for service by other transit agencies.

The station design workshop will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10 at the Pierce Transit Lakewood Training Center.

In preparation for the workshop, Sound Transit mailed more than 600 postcard invitations to people interested in the project and community members who live near the proposed station. In addition, members of the public are asked to call Sound Transit in advance at (800) 201-4900 (voice) or (888) 889-6368 (TTY) if auxiliary aids or communications materials are needed in accessible formats.
