Public invited to give input into station names and designs; online option also available

Sound Transit will hold an open house on Thursday, April 13 from 4:30 – 7 p.m. at Stadium High School in the cafeteria, 111 North "E" Street, to share an update on the next steps for the Tacoma Link Expansion and collect community input. Members of the public can also participate online.

The Tacoma Link Expansion will extend Tacoma's light rail 2.4 miles, and will include seven new stations between the Theater District and Hilltop, five new vehicles, and an expansion to the existing Operations and Maintenance facility (OMF) on East 25th Street. The project currently is at the 60-percent design stage, with construction scheduled to begin in 2018.

At the meeting, attendees will speak with Sound Transit staff to receive updates on station design plans and the next steps for the expansion. Members of the public will have the opportunity to share input on station design, Traction Power Substation screening proposals, and weigh in on station names. Open House information will be online April 18-30, 2017 at www.soundtransit.org/tacomalinkexpansion.
