Public asked to provide input on specific options for improving future access to stations, including parking, pedestrian, bicycle and bus facilities

Sound Transit will conduct two open houses next week to review specific options for improving transit rider access to the Sumner and Puyallup Sounder stations. The events will take place:

Tuesday, May 13
4 - 7 p.m.
Sumner City Hall
1104 Maple Street

Wednesday, May 14
4 - 7 p.m.
The Liberty Theater
116 West Main Avenue

In the 2008 Sound Transit 2 ballot measure, voters approved funding for improving commuter access to Sounder stations. Station improvements that could be funded include more parking, enhanced connections for pedestrians and bicycle users, and bus access improvements.

The open houses will provide the public an opportunity to discuss and provide comment on specific access options that are being studied. The Sound Transit Board of Directors will be asked to identify one or more options to advance to environmental review this summer.
