Stair replacement project at Kent Sounder Station begins May 15

Elevator access to pedestrian skybridge to be preserved

Publish Date

Both the west and east stairs to the pedestrian skybridge at the Kent Sounder Station need to be replaced. For this work to proceed, crews will be shutting down the west stairs beginning May 15 through July 7. During this time elevator access to the pedestrian bridge will be preserved.

Following the completion of the west stairs, the replacement of the east stairs to the pedestrian skybridge will commence July 10 through Sept. 11. Again, elevator access to the bridge will be preserved during construction.

Elevators in the Kent Station parking garage will also remain in operation throughout the project.

Alternate access is also available by using the pedestrian crossing at E. Smith St., south of the station.
