Talking Signs Demonstration

Sound Transit is demonstrating a unique technology - the first of its kind in the Pacific Northwest -- called TALKING SIGNS® that will aid people with sight disabilities.

Talking Signs® technology is an infrared wireless communications system that provides remote directional human voice messages that make confident, independent travel possible for vision impaired individuals.

Reporters are invited to both view and experience this new technology. If reporters are interested, they can be blindfolded and learn firsthand the challenges faced by people with these disabilities. They will then have the opportunity to experience how Talking Signs® technology can ease those challenges.
