What to expect during the next two weeks* (March 7 - 21):
The locations for the work listed below are shown on the project map.
- Continue building the wooden wall around the construction site.
- Continue installing concrete foundations to support the future station.
- Continue building the pedestrian pathway between NE 43rd Street and Brooklyn Avenue NE. Once complete, the pathway will be open Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Continue utility work on NE 43rd Street from west of Brooklyn Avenue NE to the alley within the project construction zone.
- Begin utility work on Brooklyn Avenue NE from just south of NE 43rd Street to NE 45th Street.
- Begin to prepare the site for a temporary construction office. Trees will be trimmed and the site will be leveled for temporary trailers.
Equipment: trucks, excavators, jackhammers, drill rigs, crane, generators, street sweepers
On the horizon (After March 21)*:
- Continue building the wooden wall around the construction site.
- Continue utility work on NE 43rd Street from west of Brooklyn Avenue NE to the alley.
- Begin utility work along NE 42nd Street between Brooklyn Avenue NE and University Way NE. This work was initially scheduled for March and has been re-scheduled for April 2014.
- Close the intersection at NE 43rd Street and Brooklyn Avenue NE to vehicular traffic to construct a temporary bridge. Pedestrian access will be maintained during this work. The intersection will close this spring and is expected to reopen to vehicular traffic in fall 2014.
