Water line work will continue on Martin Luther King Jr. Way from Division Avenue to 6th Street, moving to the section from 3rd Street to 5th Street in front of Tacoma General Hospital. The contractor will work on utilities in the intersection of MLK Jr. Way and South 11th Street, resulting in lane closures one block from the intersection. In the Stadium District, crews continue stormwater work on North 1st Street The contractor continues underground electrical work on Commerce Street near the 705 onramp. The contractor is working on underground utilities on East 25th Street near Sound Transit’s Operations and Maintenance Facility.

Where
Martin Luther King Jr. Way from South 10th Street to South 11th Street – southbound lane closure. The contractor is installing underground utilities in the intersection of MLK Jr. Way and South 11th Street. Southbound traffic is closed for one block on MLK Jr. Way from South 10th Street to 11th Street. Follow detours on M Street and J Street. A lane on South 11th Street near the MLK Jr. Way intersection also may be closed temporarily.
Martin Luther King Jr. Way from 3rd Street to 5th Street – lane restrictions. Crews are installing a new waterline on Martin Luther King Jr. Way from Division Avenue to 6th Street, and will move to the section from 3rd Street to 5th Street in front of Tacoma General Hospital. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Martin Luther King Jr. Way. 5th Street will continue to be open.
North 1st Street from G Street to Yakima Avenue – northbound lane closure. North 1st Street is open to one-way traffic from Tacoma Avenue to Yakima Avenue. The northbound lane on North 1st Street is closed between G Street and Yakima Avenue. The contractor is installing a stormwater system.
Commerce Street: 7th Street to 705 – lane closure. The southbound lane on Commerce Street is closed in between the 705 exit and 7th Street The northbound lane is open to access the 705 onramp and Stadium Way. The contractor is doing electrical and traffic signal work.
Stadium Way: southbound lane closure; use detours. Southbound on Stadium Way continues to be closed to traffic from Broadway to South 4th Street. Please follow the detours on Street Helens Avenue, Broadway and Tacoma Avenue. One-way traffic going north on Stadium Way is open. The contractor is working on both water and storm drainage systems. Tacoma Public Utilities is connecting customers to the new water service.
East 25th Street from McKinley Avenue East to East J Street – lane restrictions. The contractor is working on underground utilities near Sound Transit’s Operations and Maintenance Facility in the Dome District. Two-way traffic is maintained.

- Driveway and pedestrian access is maintained, although some sidewalks and crosswalks will be temporarily closed. Pedestrian detours will be in place.
- Construction noise related to replacing the underground utilities.
