Equipment leaving site during early morning hours on Friday, August 29

Publish Date
Body

Construction crews building the U District Station will be transporting a drill rig from the project construction site during the early morning hours this Friday, August 29.

Due to the size of the drill rig, the City of Seattle requires the transport of the equipment during off-peak travel hours to minimize disruptions to the traveling public.

Sound Transit crews have received a temporary noise variance from the City of Seattle to perform this work. Trucks must use broadband alarms. Sound attenuation will be used to minimize noise impacts to the extent possible.

What to expect:

  • Flatbed truck arriving onsite around 4 a.m.
  • Noise from continuously running engines while crews load the drill rig onto the truck
  • Lighting to illuminate the work area

This work is expected to be completed on Friday, August 29, by 8 a.m.
