Girders delivered for U District NE 43rd Street bridge

Construction crews at the U District Station construction site successfully installed nine girders that will support a temporary roadway bridge along NE 43rd Street between Brooklyn Avenue NE and the alley just west of University Way NE, the "Ave." Next, crews will install the bridge's roadway deck which eventually will accommodate one-way eastbound traffic along NE 43rd Street during construction of the light rail station. The bridge is scheduled to open in spring 2015.
