Nighttime closure of 1st Avenue NE between NE 100th and NE 107th streets
Update: This work is weather dependent and will be postponed to a later date if there are rainy conditions.
Starting 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017, Sound Transit's contractor will close 1st Avenue Northeast between Northeast 100th and 107th streets in order to prepare the area for the drilled shaft work to build the future light rail guideway on the west side of 1st Avenue Northeast. The street is planned to open back up early the next morning, 4 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2017.
What to expect:
- Construction impacts: The contractor will be moving jersey barriers and restriping 1st Avenue Northeast within the street closure area.
- Traffic impacts: 1st Avenue Northeast between Northeast 100th and Northeast 107th will be closed to vehicle traffic. Traffic will be rerouted to Northgate Way from the north and Northeast 100th Street to the south using 5th Avenue Northeast to connect. Traffic coming off the I-5 express lanes will be able to exit directly onto Northeast 103rd Street.
