Nighttime closure at NE 103rd Street and 1st Ave NE
Starting as early as Monday night, March 19, Northeast 103rd Street will be closed overnight between 1st Avenue Northeast and the Northgate Transit Center. A portion of the northbound right side lane of 1st Avenue Northeast around the Northeast 103rd Street and 1st Avenue Northeast intersection will also be closed (see map). This is to allow Sound Transit's contractor to remove the falsework, which has been used to support the guideway during construction. This night work is expected to take a week.
Access to Northgate Transit Center and Northgate Mall will be maintained. I-5 express lanes will remain open.
What to expect starting Monday, March 19:
- Work hours: Monday – Saturday: 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.
- Traffic impacts: Closure of Northeast 103rd Street east of the 1st Avenue Northeast intersection to the west of the Northgate Transit Center access road.
- Closure of a portion of the northbound right side lane of 1st Avenue Northeast around the Northeast 103rd Street and 1st Avenue Northeast intersection (see map).
- Construction equipment: Manlifts, light plants, forklifts, cranes, flatbed trucks.
