Nighttime sewer line relocation on 1st Ave NE
Starting as early May 1, Sound Transit's contractor Absher Construction Company will start the relocation of a sewer line on 1st Avenue Northeast. The relocation is necessary to continue drilled shaft and column work. Crews will install the line at night to keep traffic moving in the area. This project is expected to take approximately one month to complete.
What to expect:
- Work hours: Monday through Friday from 9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.
- Traffic impacts: 1st Avenue Northeast will be closed to through traffic from just south of the intersection of Northeast 100th Street to the area directly in front of the former Silver Platters building during work hours.
- Construction impacts: Crews will work to keep noise to a minimum. No high-impact noise activities (such as jackhammering and saw cutting) will take place at night. Access to homes, businesses, Northgate Mall and Northgate Transit Center will be maintained.
