Nighttime storm sewer line final repair and testing on 1st Ave NE

Starting Monday, Aug. 21st, Sound Transit's contractor Absher Construction Company will complete repairs and test a newly installed storm sewer line on 1st Avenue Northeast, just south of Northeast 100th Street. Crews will do this work at night to keep traffic moving during the day. Testing and repairs are scheduled for five nights. Further notice will be provided for pavement restoration on 1st Avenue Northeast once the sewer line is complete.

What to expect:

  • Work hours are Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. – 5 a.m. Aug. 21st through the morning of the 26th.
  • 1st Avenue Northeast will be closed to through traffic from just south of the intersection of Northeast 100th Street, extending south approximately 200 feet.
  • Sewer inspection and repair will require generators and light plants. No jackhammering or saw-cutting is necessary for this work.

Access to homes, businesses, Northgate Mall, Northgate Transit Center and the Hampton Inn and Suites will be maintained.
