Overnight construction work this Thursday, March 27

Publish Date
Body

Construction crews building the U District Station will be installing a temporary construction office during the overnight hours on Thursday, Mar. 27 and throughout the day on Friday, Mar. 28. The office will be located at the corner of 12th Avenue NE and NE 43rd Street in the U District.

Heavy equipment, including a crane, semi- and flatbed trucks, lighting, and construction trailers, will arrive onsite around 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Construction impacts will include:

  • Noise from continuously running engines while crews use a crane to unload the trailers
  • Noise from placement of the trailers onsite
  • Lighting to illuminate the work area

This work is being completed during the overnight hours to minimize disruptions to the traveling public.

Sound Transit has received a noise variance from the City of Seattle to perform this work. Trucks must use broadband alarms. Sound attenuation will be used to minimize noise impacts to the extent possible.

This work is expected to be completed on Friday, Mar. 28, by 8 pm.
