Saturday Morning Concrete Pour at U District Station: 10/27/18

As early as Saturday, October 27, Sound Transit’s contractor will conduct a concrete pour for the U District Station (UDS). All concrete trucks will enter through the designated gates turn around and back into the UDS site to have the concrete pumped out of the trucks. Once emptied they will leave the site through the gate in which they entered (see map). The work schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 27: 2:00 am – 4:00 pm 

What to expect for traffic impacts: 
Concrete trucks will enter and exit the UDS site at the following gates: 

  • The North Gate: Trucks will enter on Brooklyn Ave NE near NE 45th Street. Once the trucks have been emptied they will leave the site through this gate and proceed north to NE 50th Street before entering the freeway (see map). A uniformed police officer will manage intersection traffic.
  • The West Gate: Trucks will enter on NE 43rd Street near 12th Ave NE. Once the trucks have been emptied they will leave the site through this gate and proceed to 11th Ave NE, turn right and proceed north to NE 50th Street before entering the freeway (see map). Concrete trucks will be staged near the west gate.
  • The South gate: Trucks will enter on Brooklyn Ave NE near NE 43rd Street. Once the trucks have been emptied they will leave the site through this gate and proceed down Brooklyn Ave NE to Campus Park Way and turn left. At 15th Ave NE they will turn left and proceed north to NE 50th Street before entering the freeway (see map). Concrete trucks will be staged near the south gate. A uniformed police officer will manage intersection traffic.
  • No parking signs: will be in place near construction site gates to allow trucks to enter and exit the site. 

Trucks: Increased vehicle traffic. There will be 50 trucks per hour (15 at each gate).
