Utility work on Saturday, April 19
Construction crews building the U District Station are relocating a water line on Brooklyn Avenue NE between NE 42nd and NE 45th streets. The water line is being relocated prior to construction of the light rail tunnels and station.
Seattle Public Utilities will be connecting the new waterline on Saturday, April 19 from 7 am to 9 pm. Sound Transit has received a noise variance from the City of Seattle to perform this work.
What to expect during this work
- Crews will arrive at the U District station site around 7 am.
- Noise related activities will include running vehicles and equipment, sawcutting and removing asphalt, cutting pipes, placing and connecting the new lines, and other support activities.
There will be temporary water shut-offs for properties along Brooklyn Avenue NE between NE 42nd and NE 45th streets. Properties affected by this water shut-off have been notified by Seattle Public Utilities.
