Weekend night closure of northbound Interstate 5 lanes

Publish Date

Starting Saturday, March 14, a portion of the northbound Interstate 5 general purpose lanes will be closed while Sound Transit's contractor delivers the traction power substation (TPSS) to Northgate Station. TPSS units provide electricity to the overhead wires which power light rail vehicles. To safely complete this work, a portion of the northbound Interstate 5 lanes will be closed overnight as crews stage a crane on I-5 to lift the TPSS into place at the elevated station.
