3. How to apply

The Sound Transit Board of Directors is seeking interested citizen volunteers to join the Citizen Oversight Panel (COP). There are currently four positions open. Two positions representing the Pierce County subarea, and two positions representing the Snohomish County subarea.

Please apply - Sound Transit relies on the oversight and expertise of this dedicated and independent group of volunteers. 

Candidates should be available to attend meetings twice each month during normal business hours and must have experience/skills in one or more areas related to the panel's responsibilities:

  • Business and finance management.
  • Engineering.
  • Large projects construction management.
  • Public facilities and services.
  • Government processes.
  • Public policy development or review.

Current openings

There are currently four positions open. Two positions representing the Pierce County subarea, and two positions representing the Snohomish County subarea. Please apply - Sound Transit relies on the oversight and expertise of this dedicated and independent group of volunteers. 

Copies of all applications and resumes are provided to the Board for review. The Executive Committee reviews and recommends candidates to the entire Board of Directors for confirmation.

Sound Transit actively seeks persons from diverse backgrounds and professional areas of expertise to support agency oversight, planning and operations. Persons of color and women are encouraged to apply.
