The National Weather Service is forecasting inclement weather in the Sound Transit service area over the next several days which may have an impact on regional transportation. Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your commute during these conditions:

Be prepared: Sign up for text or email Service Alerts to stay up to date on changes that can impact your commute. Route information be found by navigating to your Sound Transit Express bus route number using the Riding transit in winter on the Sound Transit website. Plan your route in advance to save you time.

Link and Sounder Service: All Sound Transit rail services will operate on their regular schedule. Dress warmly and use caution at all stations. Be prepared for wet platforms, stairs, crosswalks, sky bridges and parking lots.

Call or text Sound Transit security at 206-398-5268 to report puddling conditions at parking lots and on platforms at light rail stations. Sounder passengers may contact Sound Transit security or on duty station agents.

ST Express: ST Express service may reroute at any time. Road conditions can change quickly causing reroutes or stop closures with little to no advanced notice. You might see smaller buses used on your route and experience reduced operating speeds.

Important note: OneBusAway and other third-party apps may not reflect current levels of service during adverse weather conditions. Passengers should monitor the Service Alerts page for reroute information. All posted schedules are estimated. During adverse weather conditions schedules may not be followed.

It is advised to wait for buses at posted bus stops on flat portions of cleared arterials or at major transfer points, such as park-and-ride lots and transit centers where there may be multiple service options. Please use caution and watch for wet conditions at train stations and bus stops. Sound Transit will have crews out in the field working to clear up facilities, please be prepared in case your facility has not been cleared by the time you arrive.

Thank you for riding Sound Transit. Travel safely.
