June 12 service changes include earlier downtown-airport light rail service

Service adjustments take effect on 12 ST Express bus routes

Sound Transit service changes beginning Saturday, June 12, include earlier morning light rail service from Westlake to Sea-Tac Airport as well as schedule and other modifications to 12 ST Express bus routes.

The first Link train will depart Westlake at 5:05 a.m. - 15 minutes earlier than the 5:20 a.m. train - to better accommodate early morning travelers and airport workers.

Sound Transit will continue to offer 4:40 a.m. light rail service from Stadium station at 501 S. Royal Brougham Way. Both early morning trains - the 5:05 a.m. service from Westlake and the 4:40 a.m. service from Stadium station-operate Monday through Saturday only. The first train to the airport on Sunday leaves Westlake at 6:20 a.m.

Weekday Link trains run every 7 to 8 minutes during peak times, every 10 minutes during the midday and evening, and every 15 minutes from 11:50 p.m. to 1:15 a.m. Weekend Link trains generally run every 10 to 15 minutes.

Service changes for Sound Transit's ST Express busses include new Saturday hourly service for Route 578 between Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Federal Way and Seattle starting at 6:01 a.m.

Route 535: Significant schedule adjustments and trips added

Route 540: Significant schedule adjustments

Route 566: Minor schedule adjustments to meet Sounder

Route 574: Significant schedule adjustments

Route 577: Significant schedule adjustments and added trips

Route 578: New Saturday service

Route 586: Trips eliminated to better match ridership

Route 590/593: Trips eliminated to better match ridership

Route 592: Trips eliminated to better match ridership

Route 594: Minor schedule adjustments

There are no changes to Sounder and Tacoma link service.

All service changes are effective June 12 through October 2, 2010.
