Redmond community leader Bertha Eades appointed to Sound Transit's Citizen Oversight Panel

The board of Sound Transit - the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority - unanimously supported the appointment of Redmond community leader Bertha Eades to the Sound Transit Citizen Oversight Panel. Comprised of citizens throughout the Sound Transit three-county district, the panel serves as an independent body responsible for reviewing the performance of Sound Transit. 

For nearly three decades, Eades has been active citizen leader and long time advocate for improved transit. Currently serving on the Redmond Planning Commission, Eades has also been involved with numerous local and regional groups including serving as a member and chair of Metro's Citizen Water Quality Advisory Committee, the Redmond Trails Committee and for more than 26 years she has been an active member of the League of Women Voters of Lake Washington East. 

Eades fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Stephanie Weber, a Kirkland resident. Sound Transit's policies require that the membership of the Citizen Oversight Panel equitably represent each geographic area of the three-county Sound Transit district, and vacancies should be replaced by a person from the same area as the former member.
