Be a LOOKer! Stay safe and look both ways around tracks and trains

Publish Date

Each year, Sound Transit participates Operation Lifesaver’s “See Tracks? Think Train! Week” formerly known as Rail Safety Week. Partner agencies across North America all join in a collaborative education effort to stop track tragedies Sept. 15-21. This week is about saving lives through education and empowering everyone to “Be a LOOKer” and make safe decisions around trains and tracks.

Being a LOOKer is easy—all you have to do is look both ways when you cross tracks because trains can come from both directions at any time.

On Wednesday, Sound Transit ambassadors will be out in the system near at-grade crossings thanking riders for being safe and handing out exclusive safety SWAG. We’ll be at Columbia City, Othello, and Rainier Beach 1 Line stations, BelRed and Overlake Village 2 Line stations, and Kent, Puyallup, and Tacoma Dome S Line stations.

Make sure to “Be a LOOKer” and say hello to our safety ambassadors on your way to and from school, work, or play on Wednesday!

Sound Transit’s See Tracks? Think Train! Week is sponsored by Kaiser Permanente.
