More ways to get Sound Transit rider alerts

Publish Date

Sound Transit is making exciting strides by tapping into technology to enhance the passenger experience.

A recent big improvement was implementing software from Arcadis IBI Group for creating and managing rider alerts.

This tool sends alerts to passengers more efficiently, and effectively, by leveraging apps and websites that you already use to plan your trips.

The new system also makes it easier for our staff to more quickly publish better alerts. For elevator outage alerts, the system automatically provides information about alternatives for customers.

That’s right: One of the best parts of this tool is that it integrates Sound Transit rider alerts into all major trip planner apps.

We get it: not all passengers want to sign up for email or text alerts. This solution provides an alternative for passengers to receive notice of a disruption or outage instantly while using Google Maps, Apple Maps, the Transit App, or OneBusAway to navigate our transit system.

And for passengers who want to receive email and text push notifications, this option still exists.

Our new alerts system seamlessly publishes the alert to email and text subscribers at the same time it publishes the alert for apps and sends the alert to Twitter.

To sign up for email and text notifications or manage your existing subscriptions, visit this link. And follow our alerts-only Twitter account at @Alerts_ST.
