New blue vinyl seat material on board a Link car

Sound Transit to test new Link seat material during three-month pilot

Publish Date

Exciting news! Starting this month, passengers will start seeing new vinyl seat covers on Link light rail vehicles as part of a pilot program.

We expect 10 cars to be fitted with the seat inserts by mid-March.

Onboard these trains, and 10 trains with our existing seats, passengers will find posters with a QR code that will direct them to a survey where we can collect their feedback about Link seats.

This data will give us valuable information on how we can improve the passenger experience onboard Link trains in the coming years.

Which do you prefer: fabric or vinyl? Let us know!

We want our passengers to rate the comfort, appearance and cleanliness of the material, but any comments on seats are welcome.

This pilot will run for about three months, after which the new vinyl seats will be removed while the project team gathers the feedback and decides next steps.
