Ticket vending machine problems

Sound Transit has a "no refund, no replacement" policy on Link and Sounder tickets.

Occasionally a Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) breaks down and does not issue a valid ticket, receipt or change. You may report the issue online, or print and mail our form.

To report the issue using our mail-in form:

  • Print and fill out the  TVM Malfunction Resolution Form (.pdf, 13 KB)
  • Include any supporting documents [such as ticket(s) or receipt(s)] 
  • Make copies of the form and any supporting documents for your records
  • Mail your form and documents to the address shown on the form 

Normal processing time is up to 10 business days and we will advise you on the status of your request by email or phone. If you don't hear from us after 10 business days, please email us at main@soundtransit.org or call Customer Service at 888-889-6368.
