Northbound lane closure on Montlake Blvd NE between NE Pacific Street and Place

As early as Wednesday, Dec. 21, Sound Transit's contractors will begin work to decommission four dewatering wells. The work for one dewatering well requires a northbound vehicle lane and a portion of the east sidewalk on Montlake Blvd NE between NE Pacific Street and NE Pacific Place to be closed. Work hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This work will take two days to complete.

The work for the other three dewatering wells that are located in the plaza will take eight days to complete.

What to expect:

  • Traffic impacts: One northbound lane on Montlake Blvd NE will be closed between NE Pacific Street and Place. Sidewalk access on the east side of Montlake Blvd NE will be open near the work area. Two way traffic will remain on Montlake Blvd. Expect traffic delays during this work.
  • Construction activities: Decommissioning the wells will take about eight days. The wells will be grouted per Department of Ecology.
  • Equipment: Construction trucks and support equipment may be temporarily stationed in the area overnight during this work.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m
