Pedestrian path closed for Labor Day holiday weekend

Construction crews building the U District Station will not be working this Labor Day weekend.

The pedestrian path between Brooklyn Avenue NE and NE 43rd Street will be closed for the holiday weekend (Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1). The path will re-open on Tuesday, September 2 at 7 a.m.Regular pathway hours are Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The pedestrian pathway is closed on weekends and holidays.

How to get around construction when path is closed:

  • 12th Avenue NE to NE 42nd Street orNE 45th Street
  • Brooklyn Avenue NE to NE 42nd Streetor NE 43rd Street
  • University Way NE to NE 42nd Street orNE 45th Street

The sidewalk along the south side of NE 43rd Street between Brooklyn Avenue NE and University Way NE is open during construction. Periodic closures of the sidewalk along NE 43rd Street may occur with temporary pedestrian detours provided.

U District Station
The U District Station is under construction on Brooklyn Avenue NE between NE 45th and NE 43rd streets. The station is part of the future 4.3-mile Northgate Link Extension connecting Northgate, Roosevelt, and U District neighborhoods to downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport.
