3. Ticket machine problems

Sound Transit does not provide refunds or replace lost tickets for Link light rail or Sounder train service.

Occasionally a ticket machine breaks down and does not issue a valid ticket, receipt or change. You may report the issue online, or print and mail our form.

To report the issue online, fill out the Resolution Form

To report the issue using our mail-in form:

  • Print and fill out the Malfunction Resolution Form
  • Include any supporting documents [such as ticket(s) or receipt(s)]
  • Make copies of the form and any supporting documents for your records
  • Mail your form and documents to the address shown on the form

Normal processing time is 20-30 days. If you don't see a refund from us after 30 days, please email us at main@soundtransit.org or call Customer Service at 888-889-6368.
