About this project

Senior City, Sound Transit’s first TOD project, provides affordable housing for older adults near transit in downtown Federal Way. We partnered with the Korean Women’s Association (KWA) and Common Ground to support the development, which includes office space for KWA. We completed Senior City in 2010 on land used for the Federal Way Transit Center and park-and-ride construction. It will be just north of the Federal Way Downtown Station when Link light rail opens in 2026.

Senior City received the King County Green Globe Award in 2011 and was a finalist for Affordable Housing Finance Magazine’s Reader’s Choice senior housing project of the year.
